Couple of young kids (3 of them) have entered into an unattended home, as they have found the key of the house. In to mean time the 3 kids have entered the home and took several items: purse, mp3 (new), and a cleat (old, I dont think this matter, but in case).
The owners of the house called the police, and stated they know who have been entering their home (an apartment). As a proof, they have a camera at the entrance of their apartment, not they home/room.
The police have invested and asked each kids several questions. One of the kids may have lied saying he entered the apartment to visit someone else.
Mainly, what are the consequences for these kids?
- Is it a bad or good idea if the kids' parents talk to the owners of the house by apologies and ask if they could call of the police (I know their parents)?
-How do you think the kids' parents should handle this issue? Or, what would you do if you were parents of these thief kids?
-If by law the kids get sue, howmuch $can range?
