I don’t understand what is with media. Following other peoples lives in Hollywood that were born with Silver Spoons in their mouths. More interested in who is dating who and follow how people act in movies should be how you act in real life. They see singers start buying the clothes that they wear. An example of this are these over priced boots called jugs or something than you see every girl in school wear them. Its every pitiful. I fail to see why people are this way. I’m currently in this generation could some one elaborate to me why this is so.

  1. they've been doing similar things for ages.  The only difference these days, is that "scandal" is everyday simply because cameras and other means of conveying information are now omni-present.  Thus, is how every kid present when campus police resort to blind brutality will be posting a "don't tase me, bro" vid that very night.

Ultimately, people are shallow, materialistic beings who want to be popular and well-liked.  This is especially true amongst kids, where having the wrong pair of shoes, or the wrong kind of t-shirt can lead to a child being ostracised and excluded from society.  While it has become more extreme over the years, it's existed since civilization began.  As among adults, kids will always seperate themselves into the trendy "haves" and the maligned (with FULL faculty support) "have-nots".

of course, we live in an age where more folks care about Britney Spears' allergy to panties, than their own kids and how they're doing in life.  "Hey, Mrs. Stevens, do you know what your son does after school?  Yeah, smokes hand-rolled, funny-smelling cigarettes and watches hamtaro all day.  Uh-huh.  Well, keep on watching that tabloid TV.  By the way, isn't that little Julies fifth boyfriend she's gone out with?  This week?  Do you even know his NAME?  I guess that must not be important, compared to Oprah gaining ten pounds, huh.  Well, carry on"

  2. Insecurity.

Our children are being raised a world of chaos and of course it will effect their identity. It is sad and scary. However, if the children are lucky enough to come from a home where the parents let the children know stabiltiy the odds are good they will out grow it and become security young adults, but for the other children who are lost, just pray and validate!
