Kids are extremely perceptive creatures...why is that?

Why are kids able to pick up on some things more often (or much faster) than adults; such as peoples' characters, spirits (well, some claim), and other things...that I can't really think of right now?

  1. They are at the stage of learning much more profound than we are due to some biological factors such as the stage of brain development. Their task at that age is to learn about the world around them.

  2. Their minds are not clouded with nonsense ...they see things for what they are not what we want to see

  3. This only seems true of children.  For one, they have much less experience in perceiving anything, and thus see things at a more surface level.

Add to that the much lower level of inhibitions in children.  They see, they react/speak.  That's how they learn language, relationships, and what's expected of them.  (We do tend to make little performers of our kids.)

When what your describing is a blatant characteristic of the person it is much easier to agree with a simplistic and obvious judgement/reaction from a child.
