My cousin is having his B-Day at Hooter's restaraunt and he really wants me to go. I have 3 small children ages: 6, 3, and 1. I also don't have a babysitter so they would have to go. Has anyone ever taken kids to Hooter's and is this a good idea. I won't be drinking.

  1. Hooters is fine. Took my little sister and nephew a couple of times when they were younger to watch WWE PPVs. They won't kick you out for bringing small children. I've seen plenty of family outings there.

  2. They should be fine it is a birthday party. And its not a strip club. the girls might not wear tons of clothes but they do cover up. Lucky for you your children are to young to understand why its called hooters. And I'm sure the staff there would act appropriate with your circumstances. And hopefully other guests and your family would to.

  3. Hooters has high chairs and a kids menu.  Relax and have fun!

  4. My kids are the same exact ages.  I would bring them to Hooter's with the exception of my 6-year old daughter.  Ehh,, you know what I probably wouldn't bring my sons either.  That place isn't really for children- not because children can't handle it, but because noone wants to go to hooters and hear a baby crying.  You have games going on, you're trying to unwind.  I think it's more of an inconvenience to the other patrons than anything.  Hooters sucks anyways.... the girls aren't that great looking and the food is second-rate.  You had to specify that you wouldn't be drinking so I assume that everyone else would be.... how fun is that?  You show up lugging your 3 kids around and everyone else is drinking and having a good time and your main focus is to stop the 3 year old from throwing food on the floor.  I think its a bad idea.

  5. some kids in my sisters class snuck out to Hooters on a field trip

overprotected rich kids from what I heard

like 12 year olds I think

it was probly good for them

  6. Why not visit one and see. While there is no nudity you will find lots of women with boob jobs, orange shorts and tight t shirts. They serve beer and hot wings as the main menu item. You will find less clothing at the beach. Not exactly a family theme but families do eat there. Their target demographic is obviously young men.

While not the best choice to take the kids to dinner it won't cause lasting harm especially at that age. Do you take the kids to the beach?

  7. I see kids their all the time.. The food is great and it's a noisy atmosphere which is perfect for kids.  Honestly the outfits are not as bad as everyone thinks they are and they are definitely geared towards families.

  8. I love hooters and we always take my daughter with us. She loves it. I don't think you should worry about it at all. They will be fine. At the most they may ask questions but its still better than most cartoons that are on television now that claim to be for children. Relax. And enjoy the food and atmosphere.

  9. That's a hard question and I think it depends on the atmosphere of the Hooters you are talking about and the time of day.

Generally I don't think of Hooters as a family friendly restaurant.  You sound like you are not really comfortable with the idea - so I would say don't go or look harder for a babysitter.

  10. it's fine and the food is great for kids...the girls are very nice and not trashy...

  11. Take the kids and go! I have seen many children at Hooter's with their parents. It is a fun place to go. Since it is a birthday party, the Hooter's Girls with make it even more fun. They play games, sing, and do various other enjoyable things. I have even seen the girls have bicycle races on tricycles. So have fun!

  12. There's nothing inappropriate about Hooters. It's not a strip club, the waitresses don't try to seduce anyone, and the place is generally well-lit.  The only difference between Hooters and Chili's is that the Hooters waitresses are dressed scantily. But they still act professionally and provide you with good service. There aren't d***o-shaped salt-shakers or girls-gone-wild DVDs playing on the TVs.

  13. Personally I would not, but that depends on what your opinion of hooters is.  In my opinion I think its just another degrading place where men can oogle women, you cannot prevent your children from eventually coming across things like that but I would not be comfortable bringing young children there.  Not really a family restaurant imo.

  14. Theres nothing wrong with bringing them there they should be fine

  15. It depends solely on your own personal beliefs, values, etc.  As someone stated, they do have a kids menu and high chairs.  Kids go there all the time.  You see much more at the beach.  The wait staff just does what all other restaurants do, just in less clothing.  They wear tight t-shirts ans skimpy shorts with pantyhose underneath, and tennis shoes.

It's perfectly okay to take kids there.  But, YOU are the one who will need to feel okay with it.  If you don't, then don't do it.  You should maybe try to stop and have lunch or a quick afternoon snack, then you'll know right away if YOU are okay with YOUR children being there.

The younger ones won't know the difference.  Check their website for a peek at what the girls wear.  The girls are not going to act inappropriately in front of your children.  Good luck.

  16. I would never, ever take my kids to a Hooters.  To throw a party there is inconsiderate unless they know everyone attending is comfortable in such a lewd place.

I would skip the party.  I would not only never take my kids there, I would never go to such a place.  Yes, I was in one many years back and it's for a certain type of person.  I've had the wings as well, and they were boring, so don't believe the hype.  Just my opinion and while others will say it's for everyone and not a certain type, that's because they are for Hooters.

  17. Tell your cousin "thanks, but no thanks." Hooters is not an environment for children. It's not really an environment for anyone with a l**k of common sense. I guess it's OK for stag parties and those who want to admire tushes and cleavage.

  18. I would NEVER take my own children to Hooter's.  I would just have to skip the party.

It is your choice and your children.  You are the one who has to make the choice.

I wish you the best of luck.

    (((Hugs)))

  19. My friend used to go to Hooters with her entire family. I heard their wings rock. It's not that bad. I would talk to your cousin though. Even though Hooters isn't that bad he might still have an adult theme going on and not want any children there.

  20. They will be fine it's really not a big deal at all.

  21. i think they'll be ok to go.  they're too young to understand the adultness of hooters.  i've seen kids in there before that were young.  i wouldn't take a p*****n or teen boy in there though, that's just asking for uncomfortableness.

  22. The waitresses are clothed, its just in tight t-shirts and skimpy shorts.  Probably nothing they haven't seen at a local mall in the summer.

I probably however wouldn't take my kids.

  23. I'd check with your cousin if it is Ok with him that you bring your kids with you, it's his party after all. I would not want small children at my birthday party, no matter where I held it, sorry no offence. Hooter's food is unedible by the way...
