  1. In England & America Pit Bulls have killed more children and humans than any other dog.

I think this speaks for itself.

  2. I don't know why you would take a chance of the dog around children. I hope for your sake, the dog doesn't turn on you or your children as they are known to do.

  3. My daughter has 2 female Pits. They are 5 & 7 years old, she got both as pups & they are inside dogs. Both have been raised with two girls ages 71/2 & 51/2 years old. There has never been any issues, but if I were you I'd be sure it's a  well breed dog and I'd get one as a pup.

    Good luck.

  4. Did anyone watch animal witness the other day. Those pits are living with other dogs and children.

If you can afford the dog, go for it.

  5. theres nothing wrong with that. in fact, i wish more kids were raised around them. as long as kids are raised around correctly raised pitts, theres no problem. pitts arent bad at all. they just get a bad rap. i have a pitt mix and she is the most gentle dog ever. its the little ones that usually will eat your face anyway. :) just make sure they are spayed and neutered. no need to add to the pet overpopulation. :)

  6. we own a pit-bull and i have a 4 year old our pit-bull my son best friends she watches him play and sleep and he can pull on her and he can be rough with her and don;t do anything to him.... pit-bulls are sweet its how they where raised so i would get her and see what she like around the kids . u need to trust your instances and stuff ,,, go with what u think is right and everything , there nothing wrong with pits in my eyes

  7. What Animal Do I Speak Of?

    By Patty Letawsky

Their love is like no other, their heart as pure as gold.

Yet while going on a friendly walk, they're faced with stares of cold.

They're so very close to human, in how they act and what they do,

Unless you've known their devoted love, it's impossible to explain to you.

They are greatly more misunderstood, than any other breed.

We tend to punish this loyal dog, instead of mankind's deeds.

They are always and forever clowns, with a wish for center stage.

Yet while displaying this sense of humor, most people disengage.

They, oh, so want to make new friends, and run and jump and play.

Yet when they happily approach, most people shy away.

Often I've seen children poke, or hop on for a ride.

And when I felt thay might get mad, they've only beamed with pride.

I've seen there children yank and pull, with nary a reaction.

Yet media's not interested, unless they've put someone in traction.

When other dog's have made the news, this breed's name they affix.

But when this brave dog saves the day, they call him "boxer mix".

They love to snuggle up real close, to give lots of loves and kisses,

Yet they suffer more than any, from unfair prejudices.

Their tails wag hard and hips twist, too, more so than other mutts.

So those of us who know the breed, we call them "wiggle butts".

What animal do I speak of, Whose love is so unique?

If you've truly known one, you know of whom I speak.

There is no creature on this Earth who will ever make you merrier.

The animal I do speak of, it's the American Pit Bull Terrier.

  8. I myself have two kids ages 2yrs and 6yrs and I also am the PROUD owner of a 2yr old male and a female that is 8mos old they are BOTH American Pit Bull Terriers.  Of course common sense with ANY dog and kids applies...never leave unsupervised!  Oh and of course to avoid added stress from pups...unless you show your dogs consider spay and neuter if the male is not already! :)

  9. If you are capable of doing this then yes absolutely. Adding a new dog will increase the "pack mentality". This means a normally docile dog can become more territorial and confident. I would never leave these dog alone outside or inside. That is just asking for problems. They need separate kennels or crates when you are gone. Dog packs are probably the most dangerous problem around.

If your present dog is even a BIT territorial i would not recommend getting another dog. It will just make him more territorial and confident. Make sure you are the pack leader, as im sure you are. Be honest with yourself if the dog has any dog or human aggression problems or dominant issues. As they will only get worse when getting another dog.

  10. IU am going to go a bit off topic here. I have NO FEAR of pitts and the ones that I have known are great.

What concerns me, though, is that you want to get a female for your male. If the male is NOT neutered and the FEMALE spayed...are you planning on breeding???

    HMMMMMM....methinks not the best idea!!!

  11. i have had many pits i have 3 right now and one is an inside dog. she is 7yrs. i met a guy and his 2 kids and she managed to get used to them i have never had a problem with her. i think the make wonderful pets. dont let their breed scare u get one as a puppy and rasie it right and trust me u will end up loving it.

  12. what?  What is your question?  Oh, I'm so confused.

  13. My family owned one when I was very young.  All kinds of dogs can be aggressive.
