Question:

Kids getting a fair stare?

Personally, I believe that incomes have a lot to do with the severity of division among our countries regions when it comes to per-pupil expenditures. Money has such a hard and powerful grip on our educational systems.

This is a sad, but true fact. Based on Socioeconomic status and student achievement, what can be done to "level the playing field" and give all kids, regardless of their parent's income level, a fair start?

  1. What is interesting is the low correlation between expenditures and achievement.  Some of the districts with the highest per-pupil expenditures do the worst jobs of preparing students.  I think we need to focus more on what we do for students, rather than what we spend.

  2. kids should get a fair chance but in all reality if thier parents dont make good income the kids get looked at like a charity case

  3. How about here in CA? We're a very wealthy state, but we're 48th in spending per student.  Sorry, but I don't entirely buy your argument.
