  1. I've had a debit card since I was 15, and I found that it was a good way for me to learn how to manage my money.  Also, it is convenient in the sense that you don't have to carry around cash all the time.  You can go to the bank and ask them to adjust the daily limits on the card if you are worried your kid will spend too much.  Also, reiterate to your child why you are giving them the debit card, and the importance of protecting their PIN!


  2. There not allowed until 18years of age.

  3. My granddaughter has had a debit card since she was 16.  She will be 21 next month.

    It's a good way to teach budgeting and banking...if the parent(s) are involved in being parents.
