  1. Try Century Martial Arts for rebreakable boards.  They come in different degrees of difficulty so I'd select the very easiest for such a young boy.

I have no idea what a cammoflage belt is.  A green belt is traditionally about half way from white to black (not in years, but in belt levels) and is generally referred to as the "first belt of international recognition" because of this.  Thus, I am highly suspicious of a school that has promoted a five-year old to such a belt.  Even good students at my school do not make this belt level for at least 18-24 months.

  2. my martial arts association has 9 kyu grades (coloured below dan/black).

In addition, there are "mon" grades for children to help them develop in age as well as ability.

This prevents the unrealistic belief of parents that if it takes maybe 3-5 years to attain a Dan grade, then a child of 5 could reach black-belt between the ages of 8 and 11.

A dan grade should be awarded for more than mere technique!!

  3. well  at my studio you have to be 7 to start the kids program, and 4-6 year olds do little ninjas which is an entirely different belt system and they go through much quicker. once they get to little ninja blackbelt they move up to the kids program as an orange belt (3rd belt). but i know there are many other studios that are much different.

well any way, the re-breakable boards are available at lots of online stores.

  4. is he in a real dojo? I have never heard of a camo belt. But  I guess for 3 years training then that is an acceptable rate (1 test every 6 months.) But we do not have any kids that young in that high of a rank the kids are 9-10 normally when they reach that rank.  For me it took 2-3 years to get to blue (camo) though I was 8. We go: White, yellow, gold, orange, green, blue, purple, red, brown (3 degrees) black. The other user was right about century.
