  1. are you the kid in the question?

  2. go on fish4jobs.co.uk and have a look at all the different categories of jobs, there are too many to list.

  3. Well done to you for trying to get support.  What do you like to do most?  Can you make money out of what you like?  If you don't know how?  Find a course that will show you.

The big wide world is a scary place, but if you work hard & stay motivated then you could be very successful at whatever you choose to be.

    Go for it!

  4. This lists all the different jobs and how to get them

    http://www.connexions-direct.com/jobs4u/...

  5. For me, when I left school it was my absolute dream to be a hairdresser.  I did it, enjoyed it and after several years (due to a perv boss) finally left.  I then tried a few office based jobs before settling in one I liked.

Sometimes you don't find your perfect job straight away or over the years your idea of 'perfect' changes.  It's very rare for someone to end up in the same job at 60 than when they left school.

You could sign up for temping agencies - they'll send you out to different environments to work on short term contracts.  You can then find what best suits you.

  6. learn direct are a great site they have a list of career profiles and connxions are also good if you have just left school. and i wouldnt worry about not knowing what your doing i left school about 6years ago and i still dont have a clue!

  7. That's really difficult to answer, I'm not sure if there is a definitive 'list' of careers,  but I would say consider two things:

What am I really good at?

    What do I enjoy doing?

And look at career opportunities within the answers to those questions. You may need to start by helping out or volunteering in roles associated with your chosen career path. I would also say keep an open mind and take whatever you are offered as willingness is a trait that all employers are interested in.

Once you start to put a 'career' together you can start to be more picky about what you do, but getting a start on the ladder is of paramount importance.

I have yet to decide what I want to do 'when I grow up', and have had at least three distinct careers, so as I say...keep an open mind and embrace whatever comes along...

  8. Don't try for any jobs that involve writing, spelling or grammar, you're just wasting your time.

  9. If you are trying things that are not working out you lack focus.

Find out what your abilities are - what you are good at. Everyone is good at least one thing.

This will narrow down what the huge list.

Then see if can match what you are good at to what you would like to do.

Trying things that you are not committed to is a waste of time. Pick something you have ability for and you like to do it and then give it all you got.

No employer really wants someone who is just 'trying' the job.

  10. To do this would take pages and pages and I would still miss them most of them.  Careers are as endless as your imagination (both legal and illegal).  You don't sound old enough to have tried everything.  So what you might want to do is to stick with things that interest you.  Look in your local classified ads, the college course books, look at the job sites on the web, and talk to a career counselor.  Career counselors can give interest profiles so that you can narrow your list.  Now if you're 80 years old plus then your life is wasting away.  But somehow I doubt this.  The following websites might help you some in comparing careers, wages and areas.
