Kids music?

My 9 year old sister and I both have our own iPods. My mom and dad share an iPod. Then we have a "kiddie" iPod for the rest of the kids (6, 4, 2, and 2 month old twins). We litterally just got it today. My mom bought a $50 iTunes giftcard (she buys them instead of putting her credit card into the computer) and told me to buy $50 worth of songs for them to entertain them in the car. She told me to be creative, but I have no idea what to buy. I didn't even spend $1 for them yet. Any ideas?

  1. I grew up with music from the 60s-80s because my parents often played the CDs(I'm a 90s kid.) I love old music so maybe you should let your kids listen to the stuff you grew up with?

  2. If you can find Hi-5 songs do that, my daughter loves that!

  3. A few ideas: For the Kids 3; Ben Kweller's version of "Lollipop"; anything by Sandra Boynton (Blue Moo, Philadelphia Chickens); anything by Bill Harley; Brent Holmes; Schoolhouse Rocks.

  4. veggietales, disney songs even, backyardigans songs

  5. Laurie Berkner.  One of my son's favorites.

  6. There are a lot of pre-made playlists in many varieties, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a playlist of classic rock songs for kids, something along that line. I'd go with that, or you could go with those darn Disney songs...

  7. Disney songs and things along that line.  Why isn't your mom handling this???
