Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan surge into Men’s Doubles semi-final at Li Ning China Open
Malaysia’s talented player Kien Keat Koo and Boon Heong Tan continued their impressive winning run in the arena as they secured a berth in Men’s Doubles semi-final at Li Ning China Open 2012, which is in progress in Shanghai, China.
In the quarter-final clash, Kien Keat and Boon Heong showed a wonderful performance and outplayed Chinese Taipei’s Hung Ling Chen and Chia Bin Lu in a thrashing fashion on Friday, November 16.
The World Number Four Kien Keat and Boon Heong, who are seeded at number three in Men’s Doubles main draw of the tournament, were at their best as they played positive and attacking badminton and ousted their rivals in just 36 minutes.
Kien Keat and Boon Heong were aggressive in the arena as they dictated the pace of rallies throughout the match and won it in straight games with a superb margin on score board.
On the contrary, the un-seeded Hung Ling and Chia Bin tried to give a good fight but they failed to put up strong show in front of their aggressive opponent and went down without managing any set in this quarter-final contest.
In the opening set, the aggressive Kien Keat and Boon Heong showed a tremendous performance on court as they did not let their Taipei rivals to find a good flow.
Kien Keat and Boon Heong displayed their incredible craft in the arena and eventually remained successful in setting up a strong position at the initial stage.
The in-form Malaysian players did not show any sign of confusion and remained in complete command of rallies until the end of first half where they were in strong position.
The contest proceeded in the similar way after the break as Kien Keat and Boon Heong did not lose their commanding position at any stage and remained successful in taking the first game with a 21-17 score on the board.
In the second game, Kien Keat and Boon Heong continued their aggressive run without sparing any chance for their opponents and again they managed a reasonable lead until the break.
After the break, the higher ranked Malaysian shuttlers stayed ahead on score board and managed to end up the set with a superb difference of 21-17.
