Kieren Fallon in the line for the British Champion Jockey’s title against Paul Hanagan and Silvestre De Sousa
Kieren Francis Fallon is yet again running for British Champion Jockey, the title which he has already gained six times before. He is a professional flat racing jockey who was born on 22nd February in Ireland and got the very first chance to enter
the racing industry as an apprentice to trainer Kevin Prendergast and rode for the first time in 1984.
When he moved to England in order to pursue his professional career, he was first employed by Jimmy Fitzgerald and then later by Jack and Lynda Ramsden. He has a record of winning the Epsom Derby three times, Oath in 1999, Kris Kin in 2003 and North Light
in 2004. He has raced and ended up with major wins in Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, UAE and the US.
Ever since 2000, Kieren fallon has won the British Champion Jockey three time in a row from 2001 to 2003, Ryan Moore got it trice too first in 2006 then consecutive in 2008 and 2009. The jockey who won the title last year is Paul Hanagan.
He has been reported to have said that he is enjoying the competition with Hanagan and Silvestre De Sousa. Kieren Fallon’s last two races have turned out to be wins with Franciscan and Jack’s Revenge. For two-year-olds he has won 69 out of 489 runs, 59 seconds
and 75 thirds. For three-year olds it is 146 wins out of 714 runs, 103 seconds and 78 thirds. With four-year olds his wins go up to 111 out of a total of 705 runs, racing 80 seconds and 88 thirds.
Just last year’s champion, Paul Hanagan has posted coming third with Jewelled Danger and then second with Hi Dancer both on 4th October. For two-year olds he has won 175 out of 999 runs, with three-year olds it has been 210 wins out of 1509 runs
and when riding four-year old s it was 274 wins out of 2500 runs.
The competition that is being put across is quite challenging, it is really very tricky and impossible to judge that who will end up taking the title or taking the title again. However the number of races that Paul Hanagan has run definitely surpass those
that had Kieren Fallon participating in so that might just be one of the many indicators.
