Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo: Stars of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Team
The explosive West Indian duo of all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard have opted against signing the contracts that were put in front of them by the West Indies Cricket Board, citing issues with their
category and the release clause as being unfair.
The dynamic all-rounders have been by far the two most outstanding players for the Islanders besides Chris Gayle and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shivnarine-Chanderpaul-c90073. The main issue behind turning down the contracts was that the players
could be stopped by the board at will and not allowed to appear in foreign leagues.
It is not a worry for the two explosive players as they have very much become superstars through their impressive performances in IPL mainly. The differences among the players and board have been ongoing
for quite a while now and the players in the recent past opted against representing their country on an issue of being underpaid by the WICB.
Dwayne Bravo marked his One-day International debut playing against England. The English side was on their away tour of Caribbean when Bravo was called into the West Indian side in 2003/04. Even though he did not get a chance to
bat is his first outing but being an all-rounder he got the chance to ball and he was on the mark with his first spell claiming two wickets which was pretty decent and marked his arrival on the international scene. His talent was not hidden from anyone and
the selectors felt that he is tailor-made for the longer version of the game. Bravo was named in the touring party on the tour of England in 2004 where he got the much awaited Test cap which is a dream of any international player. He couldn’t have wish for
a better debut as he got the nod at the home of Cricket, Lords cricket ground. But he was unable to play according to his potential; may be the nerves got the better of him and he was able to score just 44 and 10 respectively in his two innings claiming three
wickets as well. His overall performances were the sign of things to come as he grabbed 16 wickets and more than 200 runs. He proved his mantle when he scored 77 in one of the test matches of the series and claimed six wickets in the same inning as well. The
rest as they say is history as the flying Bravo never looked backed and has been blossoming day by day. It will be not a surprise if Bravo becomes a captain of West Indies as he is someone who can be a inspiration for his team mates.
While talking about Bravo, it would be unfair if one neglects the talent and potential of Kieron Pollard given his unbelievable rise on the cricket scene which has seen him from being an unknown quantity to become one of the most
dangerous hitters in the game at present.
Chris Gayle’s presence is no fun for the opposition bowlers but think about the feelings of the bowling attack of their rivals when they see Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle together. Pollard is as strongly built as Gayle and he
is not behind anyone when it comes to clearing the boundaries with ease.
Pollard’s recent outing with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians has captured the imagination of the viewers by hitting massive and towering sixes with utmost ease. In the recent Champions League T20 tournament Pollard hit a six of 128 meters which
is by far the biggest six of the tournament and the distance tells itself the nature of pounding the ball must have took from the big fellow. If there is one person who can break the record of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 who scored the fastest hundred in ODIs it has to
be Kieron Pollard. Expect Pollard to break the records of most sixes in T20s and ODIs as well.
In times to come these two players definitely have to play a vital role in bringing glory back to the West Indian side.
