West Indies' hard-hitting batsman, Kieron Pollard, has re-joined Adelaide Strikers for the 2nd edition of the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash League.
While confirming the news, Strikers' coach, Chuck http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Berry-c47842, said they were delighted that the explosive batsman has signed for them for the coming season of the Big Bash League.
“It’s been no secret that we wanted him back, and that he was a priority for the Strikers, so today is a good day for us,” Chuck said.
He was signed by Strikers for the inaugural edition but couldn’t play as he was ruled out before the start of competition due to a hamstring injury suffered in a trial match in Adelaide.
“Coming back to Adelaide has always been on my mind. It’s always been a great set-up for me as a cricketer.  Last year was obviously frustrating for me so I definitely feel I have some business to take care of,” said Pollard.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Theo-Paul-Doropoulos-c93156, who played for the Strikers in the inaugural edition last year, have signed new contracts and will stay for at least this edition.
There are some new signings in the squad as well, which include, Phillip Huges, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Reardon-c2071.
The Trinidad-born Pollard is regarded as one of the best T20 players in the world, thanks to his power hitting.
He plays for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians in IPL. His heroics with both bat and ball helped his team reach the semifinals, where they were beaten by KKR, who went on to win the tournament. He got 16 wickets in 14 matches, and scored 220 runs at an average of 24.44.
Pollard and Captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/J-Botha-c1610 are the two overseas signings in Strikers’ squad for the coming edition.
The Trinidadian possesses plenty of experience playing in Australian conditions. He has been a part of South Australians in Australia's Domestic T20 competition for the last three years and his return will surely add an X-Factor to the Strikers' line up.

“I’m hoping everyone will get behind the Strikers again – the atmosphere at Adelaide Oval has always been awesome. It’s a great cricketing city so I’ll be bringing my best for our first game in December,” said Pollard.
