http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KA-Pollard-c1754 still uncertain for today’s fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore – Cricket News Update
The bowling coach of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shaun-Maclean-Pollock-c89847 is still not sure about the participation of all-rounder, Kieron Pollard, in today’s match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and revealed that the team management
will make a call before the toss.
The hard-hitting batsman from the Caribbean injured his shoulder in the match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils earlier in the tournament and has missed a couple of fixtures since then. Pollard is one of the most important players for the Indians as he is a match-winner
in both the departments of the game.
Mumbai is currently at number three in the points table with 14 points after 11 matches and is likely to qualify for the play-off stage of the tournament. This is the reason why, Indians are reluctant to risk Pollard before the crunch matches.
At its home ground, Mumbai will take on RCB today. The former South African captain expressed that Pollard has started to practice but only time will tell whether he is match-fit or not.
"Pollard has put himself through the paces in the nets (today). You cannot rush shoulder injuries. We will see how he feels tomorrow. We will be as patient as we can, he knows the best," said Pollock.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RG-Sharma-c2309 have not been consistent in the tournament but both of them found form in Mumbai’s previous encounter against Chennai Super Kings. Pollock is happy with the return to form of both the premier batsmen and feels
that it is going to enhance the chances of his team in the coming matches.
The former South African captain expressed."It's nice to see our batting unit click in the last game. And we can use this as a foundation going forward."
Pollock, who was one of the best fast bowlers of the world during his playing days, admitted that bowling is not an easy job in the modern-day game as the pitches and playing conditions are heavily in favour of batsmen.
"T20 cricket is dominated by batsmen - particularly in games where pitches are batting-friendly but bowlers understand what is required of them. They have picked up new skills, developed slower balls," he added.
