Kieswetter Hopes To Improve, Maintain Partnership With Strauss

England’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/March-c74391 and topped it off by earning the Man of the Match award in the Twenty20 final against arch rivals Australia.

In the NatWest series against Australia, Kieswetter failed to impress with just 13.8 in the series, even though England won the series. However, he has already started showing signs of improvement as England went on to beat Bangladesh, last Thursday.

Against Australia, Kieswetter was limited to a mere 69 runs in five innings, and on Thursday against Bangladesh he had 32 runs from some 40 balls, which is not praise worthy for an aggressive batsman like him. However, Kieswetter claimed that at this stage personal success did not matter to him and that he believed the teams’ good form was sure to have an effect on him.

“I have been able to experience a lot in a short international career. I have probably had a dream experience. I have played against Bangladesh, been part of a winning side at a World Cup and created history. I have really enjoyed what I have been part of and have contributed at certain stages.”

Kieswetter revealed how playing against Australia was a challenge, “Australia are the No. 1 international one-day side in the world, and it was a fantastic experience playing against them," he added. "They had four or five top-quality bowlers running in at you, so it was a step-up to be playing a top three team in the world and that was my first experience of playing in a series against one of them.”

Kieswetter said he was proud to have survived one of Shaun Tait’s 100mph deliveries last Saturday, and was looking forward to the challenge of going up against Bangladesh’s spin bowlers.

England’s win over Bangladesh takes them to their fourth successive One Day International win – a feat they have only previously accomplished in their Ashes tour of 1986-1987. Keeping the 6-1 series win over Australia last year, Strauss believes the team has improved considerably, especially in the 50 over format. Kieswetter agreed, adding that the team was now more confident going into bigger matches and said that they were looking forward to the upcoming series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and most importantly, the 2011 World Cup.

Kieswetter’s aim in the upcoming tour will be to maintain his partnership with captain, Andrew Strauss. The pair impressed with their partnership against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, where they had 74 runs together.

There is however, room for improvement, the nervous running between the wickets was not to convincing and Kieswetter admitted the pair needed to work on that. He said how he was still adapting to the game, but given the time would strike up an unbeatable partnership with Strauss. “It will take a while but we do dovetail quite nicely, so we will try to build up a partnership. I've just got to hit it through the in-field before I call him through for a single,” Kieswetter said about his partnership with Strauss.
