Kieswetter warns Somerset against complacency vs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 – Cricket News Update
Somerset’s wicketkeeper batsman Craig Kieswetter has warned his side against complacency when playing Essex in the first quarter-final of this year’s Friends Life T20 tournament, to be played at Taunton today, July 24, 2012.
"Any side who gets to the quarter-finals is a dangerous side, so we won't be taking it lightly at all,” said the 24-year-old gloveman, while speaking to media reporters ahead of the crunch game.
“Essex are a very good side with a lot of players who can bat, bowl, field and catch – they do everything. With their http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 players back, that makes them stronger,” he added further.
Somerset earned a home quarterfinal after finishing the group stage at the top of the
Midlands/ Wales/ West Group. The Eagles on the other hand qualified for the knock out stage being the best third Test side in the South Group.
Somerset go into today's Friends Life Twenty20 quarter-final against Essex at the back of morale boosting victories over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782, over the weekend. They beat the Bears by one wicket in a dramatic LV= County
Championship match on Saturday, before handing Durham an eight-wicket thrashing in a Clydesdale Bank 40 match, the following day.
The 24-year-old Transvaal born cricketer, who scored back to back centuries in both the victories – sees today’s quarterfinal against Eagles as an ideal opportunity for his side to extend their excellent form in all the three formats of
the game.
"…you've got to try to extend it as long as you can – and, for us, Tuesday is an ideal opportunity for that," said Kieswetter.
"It's a quarter-final at Somerset in the Twenty20…we'll go back to our game-plans and get back in Twenty20 mode, then hopefully have a good game,” he added further.
A victory tonight would earn http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gloucestershire-c785 of
