Kilbreedy Way showed the way in Monday’s Stadium Bookmakers Sprint Trophy at Nottingham
On a foggy Monday evening at Nottingham, Kilbreedy Way displayed an excellent run to win The Stadium Bookmakers Sprint Trophy. Though poor weather forced the officials to abandon many competitions, but those which took place generated a huge amount
of entertainment.
The 350 metre long Grade OR heat saw D R Pruhs’ trainee clocking the area in just 18.46 seconds. The black dog was sent out with the odds of 5 to 2, the second highest in the race.
It was a pulsating clash between Kilbreedy Way, and Coolewest Jonny. However, the former eventually wrested the title by a neck’s margin. He gained a near line lead and as a result, a cash prize of £150 went to Ballymac Maeve’s son, out of Lead The
Way.
Coolewest Jonny, trained by E Saville, remained slightly unlucky, losing the heat by 0.03 of a second. The white and black dog made the best use of the inside rail of the track, and covered the area in 18.49 seconds.

The hound was holding the winning chances of 5 to 1, breaking in from the first stall. His fine speed helped him capture the second slot by ½ a length.
The third place belonged to the 3 to 1 odds holder, Funcheon Lad. Scarty Lad’s black son, out of Fridays Girl concluded the proceedings in 18.54 seconds.

It was a clear run by K Peake’s trainee, who came into the competition after finishing sixth in both of his last two heats. His connections would have been happy, as the hound not only improved his rankings, but also beat the race favourite by ½ a
length.
Salacres Fever produced an embarrassing result for P. H. Harnden. The black dog got crowded at the first bend, and could only manage to finish fourth in the list. The 2 to 1 favourite made it to the finishing line in 18.58 seconds.
By wrapping up the event in 18.62 second, Magna Drumbeat nabbed fifth spot, whereas the last place went to Filey Champ.

Magna Drumbeat was carrying the odds of 6 to 1, as he commenced the act from the second stall. The back marker, whose starting price was 7 to 1, reached at the other end of the track in 18.70 seconds.
After a long wait, Kilbreedy Way has finally opened his account of victories. The trainer would now look for consistency in order to ensure more respect and money.
