if our environment is crashing because of co2 from hydrocarbons and the only way for us to have reliable oil is to basically park the 3rd armored division and about 3 air craft carriers in the middle east for the next 50 years, and if we are willing to take out huge supplementals upwards of 200 billion a year to pay for it all, why dont we put 200 billion into a crash emergency clean energy program???????????// it makes no freakin sense to me? we could have clean energy and bring the troops home, am i the only one who thinks this?

  1. your sick for killing birds

  2. Hopefully.

  3. I prefer to kill birds with a shotgun.  It is much more efficient.

  4. because we arent over there primarily for oil.  A lot of the oil we use comes from other places than iraq.  When people say this, it leads me to believe theyre just little kids that dont fully understand the situation.  Yes, we are wasting time and money and lives over there, but it isnt for oil.  It was just a plan to destroy america, thats all.

I seriously would have been happy worrying about a terrorist attack that will never happen instead of the country being trillions in debt.

  5. So simply spending money will provide us with alternative energy???

  6. Did the liberal media tell you that, or do you know how to read?  Get your facts before you just start spouting off what you hear on tv.

  7. Sounds reasonable on the face if it, doesn't it? I bet lots of people here agree with you. But of course the benefits of the alternative energy program will not be guaranteed and may not be realized for many years no matter how much money is poured into it. And while we are waiting, any disruption of oil imports would crash the economy and take away all those billions from energy research. So conventional wisdom is to secure our oil supplies until such time as they are no longer needed. By the way, the whole world is ultimately facing the same problem. The middle east will run out of oil in 100 years or less, and then how will we keep the modern energy driven economy going?
