* Can anyone explain the "plumage" lines at the end?

"Kill Color"

You don’t have to fly away -

I’ll be the one to escape.

I can kill my own color.

I need not weapons,

For what has died within

Has suffocated all else.

When my eyes become colorless,

I have stricken.

When I’ve befriended dementia,

I have won.

It will be the only war

From which I will have emerged

Victorious.

If it breathes vibrancy,

It will be choked.

If it emanates life,

With time,

It no longer will.

It will be killed,

But it can be saved…

Only if your plumage is still

Can it be saved…

Only if your plumage is still…

  2. What has color done to you,

to make you hate it so deeply,

In your sleep, have grays and pinks,

    dismembered you quite completely?

  3. Beautiful mysterious and when read over a

few times, can have more than one meaning.

To me the line:"Only if your plumage is still".

means that if you remain calm and at peace with your self, [ don't ruffle your feathers.]

Then there is still hope for your being.

    Thankyou,10/10

  5. This is fascinating and somewhat enigmatic.  I read the last lines as meaning that if you do not flaunt your colors, if you keep still and thus become invisible, then you can save what color you have from being "killed", because "If it breathes vibrancy....It will be choked".  I read this poem several times and while it remains a bit mysterious, I found it to be provocative and eloquent.  Thank you.
