Killacolla Eagle to stamp the Smash & Grab Hurdles (Heat 2) at Sittingbourne on 8th April

Sittingbourne is to become home for the Smash & Grab Hurdles (Heat 2) over 480 metres hurdle on Sunday, 8th April. Contesting for the £100 prize money are Legal Rebel, Killacolla Eagle, Highview Phantom, Royal Premium, Druids Gaffney and Razldazl
Zamba.
A convincing entry on the lineup is Killacolla Eagle, Droopys Maldini’s four-year-old black son out of b***h Killacolla Lady. He penetrated into the season on 8th January at Poole over 450 metres by clocking the track distance in 26.62 seconds
while leading the runner up, Glencarra Wizard, by two and a half length.
He was only lucky enough to bag the seasonal debut as the next four races that he took part in were failure. Being disappointed by the spell of the missed races, the trainer, F. Gray, drilled the four-year-old twice at Crayford over 380 metres, first through
flat and later through hurdle. Killacolla Eagle settled the flat practice in 23.79 seconds.
His second victory of the season surfaced on 27th March over 380 metres hurdle at Crayford after he had raced for 24.24 seconds. The runner up of the race was Wise Signal, who was led by the winner by a good five and a half length.
Excited that the training did serve the purpose right, F. Gray yet again took Killacolla Eagle through two training sessions.
On 31st March, he raced through 380 metres hurdle at Crayford and then over 265 metres hurdle on 3rd April.
Seventh start of the new season, two victories and straight out of a pair of training sessions does make Killacolla Eagle a tempting entry for tonight’s race.
A potential threat for him can be Legal Rebel, Westmead Hawk’s four-year-old white and brindle son out of b***h Legal Moment. His most recent victory was on 16th March in a 480 metres race at Wimbledon which he got under his belt by timing the
distance in 29.15 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Malbay Alice, by 5 ¾ lengths.
He then stumbled onto a fifth position on 24th March and then was drilled over 480 metres hurdle at Wimbledon on 4th April.
A recent training does help staying in form but intimidating Killacolla Eagle tonight will not come easy.
