Killbarry Rover to steamroll his rivals in the Townviewfoods.com Champion Plate Semi-final at Shelbourne Park
Killbarry Rover stepped up to 550 yards in great fashion, whne he clinched a comprehensive victory last month. He has a wonderful record over this distance, and despite the fact that the black dog was not impressive last time, a chance can be taken on him in the Townviewfoods.com Champion Plate Semi-final, being held at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night.
The July-09 son of Westmead Hawk crushed Exciting Talent by 4 ½ lengths to bag a convincing victory. He ran in such a fabulous way that it was almost impossible for the rest of the pack to challenge his supremacy.
After grabbing the first prize, G. Holland’s trainee continued his good form to seize the runner-up spot at Tralee at the end of last month.
Despite getting crowded at the fourth bend, he managed to keep himself in the front row and secured the second spot comfortably.
The maverick hound could not maintain the standards last time around. He ran well only in patches, and failed to make things tricky for the opponents.
As a result, he could only secure the fourth position on the table. The punters should not judge him on his recent effort, as it was just an unlucky day.
He is expected to get his act together, and stamp the opposition tonight. Other hounds in the line-up are: Cuil Cougar, Tyrur Blanche, Dusseldorf, Droopys Comedian and Camas. The €100 meeting is due to begin at 21:15 (GMT).
Cuil Cougar was fifth in his last 550 yards race. D. Ruth’s charge ran well to grab the runner-up place in a 525 yards contest last weekend. However, it is going to be an entirely different situation.
Tyrur Blanche is another exiting a victory. It was altogether a different ball game that day, but one cannot ignore her winning momentum. Dusseldorf is hard to rely on, especially after his terrible defeat last time out.
Droopys Comedian ran well in defeat on last two occasions, and would need plenty of luck tonight. Camas is going through a similar situation.
Wearing red jersey, Killbarry Rover is full of confidence, and there is no reason why he should not have a big run tonight. Good luck to all the runners.
