Killer Queen and Aegean Cruiser taking lead in the William Hill – The Home Of Betting Stakes
The two most likely winners of the Grade A4 William Hill – The Home Of Betting Stakes are, Killer Queen and Aegean Cruiser. The latter is backed by 2 to 1 odds for the 450 metres flat challenge at Sunderland on Tuesday, 1st January. The G. Lynas
trained has been allotted the second trap for the evening and started racing just during this season.
The black dog has accumulated all his racing experience at Sunderland with varying distances.
His debut success was in the Grade A6 William Hill Supporting Racing Post TV Stakes on 12th July, 2012 at Sunderland over 450 metres.
Entered as the favourite, he took off from the third trap. Despite getting crowded during the second bend, he led just near the line and made the trip to the other end of the wire in 29.13 seconds.
He has given Grade A4 a try several times but has not been able to bag the winner’s prize money in any of the attempts.
Duke Special’s son ended third in the Grade A4 William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes on 13th December, 2012 at Sunderland over 450 metres. Aegean Cruiser bumped at the first bend and that cost him the winner’s and the runner-up’s spot.
His luck improved a notch in the Grade A4 Williamhill.com Stakes on 20th December, 2012 at Sunderland over 450 metres. Breaking out of the third trap, he failed to set in the lead, but made the most out of every chance, missing the trip to the
winner’s enclosure by 1 ¼ lengths.
The blue jacket might work in his favour tonight and break his losing monotony.
Another hopeful with identical recent rankings but far more experience is the four-year-old black b***h, Killer Queen.
The last time that she won a race was in the Grade A5 William Hill – The Home Of Betting Stakes on 13th December, 2012 at Sunderland over 450 metres.
Setting into a lead right after taking off from the red trap had her on the other end in 28.05 seconds.
She is backed by 9 to 4 odds for the race tonight.
