Killfinnan Castle to catch victory at Hereford – Handicap Chase Preview
Killfinnan Castle is eyeing to add second straight victory to his career chart by winning Betfred The Bonus King Handicap Chase which will be held at Hereford racecourse on Wednesday, March 21.
The high-voltage Class 5 contest of 2m3f distance is scheduled to start at 3:05 (GMT). The Violet M. Jordan-trained brown gelding will compete against Free Speech, Roc De Guye, Hector’s House, Local Present, Kap West, Lyon’s Hill, Blue Hills and Western
Pride.
Killfinnan Castle caused a big upset by finishing first in his last outing at Fontwell track on March 7, 2012. There were a dozen of entries in that race.
Prior to this, the dashing horse had performed well in his two outings during January 2012. After finishing third in a race on January 5, he moved forward to accomplish a runner-up rank in the very next contest on January 24.
Thus, these three outstanding performances since the beginning of the 2012 have perked up the gelding’s morale to a great extent along with filling him with confidence and courage.
Starting his career with a fabulous triumph in March 2007, the veteran gelding has won four races so far including 3 Chase and 1 PTP.
Thus, Killfinnan Castle is carrying a lot of fighting spirit at the moment, If he manages to capitalise properly on his capabilities, he will surely be able to thrive in today’s race.
Among the other runners, Roc De Guye and Kap West are likely to perform well in the contest.
Roc De Guye won a race nicely in November 2011. The James Evans-trained bay gelding accomplished runner-up rank in the last outing of his career on March 4, 2012. Overall, the talented horse has won two out of his total 19 starts to date.
