i went to the local store today. a very well known store for helping with lawns. 2 weeks ago i put new sod down and have been watering it. well i was told that if in the morning dew you have water that looks like spider webs its start of a fungus. so i told the guy what i have seen and he gave me copper dust to put on it. the dust says it is for gardening. will this work to kill the fungus or did he give me the wrong stuff?

  1. Copper-based fungicides are very effective but please make sure you apply it properly, as per the directions on the bag.  Many fungal problems in your yard can be treated with a copper-based fungicide.

  2. If you indeed have a fungus then use a fungicide.  Scotts makes them, Ortho Makes them, Bayer makes them.  Go to a home improvement store and buy one.

  3. i have never heard of the look of spider webs being the start of fungus sounds more like spittle bugs.  but if you do not know there is a product made by fertilome called triole action which is a insecticide, fungicide and miticide.  only at independent garden centers.
