Kilmalady Fox runs to an easy victory in the Shelbourne Open 350
Kilmalady Fox took a comfortable victory in the Shelbourne Open 350 at Shelbourne Park in Ireland on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was the favourite to win and lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end, winning a cash prize of €300.
A total of seven runners were attracted towards the Grade OR event and their names were: Kilmalady Fox, An Tochar Player, El Clive, Deans Dandy, Intelli Gent, Aussie Calling and Princess Mo.
The bookmakers had complete faith in the abilities of Kilmalady Fox, as he has been performing pretty consistently in this class. He was given a starting price of 6 to 4 and lived up to the expectations of everyone in the end.
R. Gleeson’s trainee started off nicely and remained in control of the race throughout. His speed was good and he did not allow anyone else to build a lead over him. He covered the total distance in 18.78 seconds and the punters would have earned some easy
money over his victory.
The triumphant dog would have earned enormous confidence after winning the race and he will definitely win a lot more bets in the future. His stamina is extremely good and the shorter distance races seem to be more suitable for him.
Kilmalady Fox is the son of Droopys Scolari out of Woodhill Spark and was born in November 2009.
An Tochar Player finished runner up in the race. He also performed very well and could have finished on top of the table. However, he ran out of gas in the end and finished more than one length adrift of the triumphant hound.
Mason’s trainee had a clear run and kept on fighting hard for victory towards the end. However, he was unable to improve his speed in the end, thus had to settle for the runner up position. His team would have been pleased with the result though and will
be expecting him to continue doing a similar job in future events.
The second placed dog is the son of Royal Impact out of Madam Hero and was born in August 2009.
The remaining runners were unable to match the top two and fell way short in the end. They will need to improve a lot in order to fight for race victories in the future.
