Kilos? Does anybody know this?

Kilos is a kind of restaurant that you pay by weight.Are there anyone in Canada or USA?

  1. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. I know sometimes if you get take-out from a buffet, they will charge you by the weight (USA it would be by the pound, not kilo).


  2. Kilos is a weight measurement. It is about one and a half pounds. It is used mostly in Mexico and Central America.

  3. One kilogram is 2.2 pounds.  This unit of measure is used worldwide, even in the US, where the scientific community uses it almost exclusively.

    As to restaurants that charge by weight in the US, there are many salad bars that do, and some of the finer hospital dining rooms, do , too.  I was visiting a cousin in the Greenville hospital, and had a great lunch sold by the pound.  Off hand, I cannot think of any chain restaurants in the US or Canada that use this billing method.
