Kilt Rock to test his racing experience at Jebel Ali in the Jebel Ali Sprint (Listed Race) (Dirt) on 9th March
The Jebel Ali Sprint (Listed Race) (Dirt) that is open for participation of three-year and older thoroughbreds is to be staged at Jebel Ali over five furlongs. The race has the purse worth £44, 092 and will be contested for by ten participants on Friday, 9th March.
The five-year-old most experienced among the lineup, from the perspective of predominantly racing at Jebel Ali is Kilt Rock, Giant’s Causeway’s chestnut gelding out of mare Eliza.
His winning streak at Jebel Ali stretched to four from 4th November till 13th January 2012.
On 18th November, Kilt Rock won the Serve U (Handicap) at Jebel Ali over five furlongs. The 11/8 favourite of the race, was riding with Wayne Smith and leading the track of nine by 1 ¾ lengths.
Yet again, Kilt Rock was sent as a 11/4 favourite of the Orient Irrigation Services (Handicap) (Dirt) on 16th December at Jebel Ali over five furlongs. Home Office finished the race right behind the winner after being pushed back by ¼ of a length.
This race was the final outing of the 2011 season for Kilt Rock. He exited the previous season with style and made an impressive entrance into the 2012 season by bagging the seasonal debut.
Kilt Rock won the Shadwell Farm (Handicap) (Dirt) on 13th January at Jebel Ali over six furlongs. This time Kilt Rock had Tadhg O’Shea onboard and led the runner up of the race, Satwa Street, by ¾ of a length.
Fantastic Dubai finished third behind the winner while the 11/4 favourite of the race, Mortbet, ended eighth on the track of twelve.
Kilt Rock missed the second start of the season by coming second in the Emirates Airline (Conditions Race) (Dirt) on 27th January at Jebel Ali over six furlongs. He missed the winner’s spot by a head’s margin from the winner, Kanaf.
Kilt Rock’s most decent start was in the Jebel Ali Sprint Prep (Conditions Race) (Dirt) at Jebel Ali over five furlongs on 24th February. He was entered as the evening’s favourite but could only manage the eighth position on the field of fifteen.
The performance was a disappointment but not of a nature that would diminish the hopes of Kilt Rock’s connections for his next attempt.
