Kilvergan Boy likely to succeed in TurfTV Handicap Chase at Kelso
Kilvergan Boy needs just a slice of luck to be dominant in the TurfTV Handicap Chase, set to take place at Kelso on Thursday, May 10th.
The 8-year-old has been performing reasonably over the last couple of months. However, he remained a bit unlucky in his last two appearances. The veteran gelding narrowly missed the gold medal on both occasions.
The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained clinched a comprehensive win in mid February, when the Vicarage Handicap Chase saw him topping the chart by 3½ lengths.
Luck slipped out his hands afterwards. In his most recent trip, the brown gelding missed the crown only by a nose in the St Austell Brewery Handicap Chase at Newton Abbot.
After a couple of unlucky outings, Kilvergan Boy’s confidence might be a bit down. However, he requires only an extra punch to seal the top rank today.
He does not have much time to complete his preparations, as the action is about to get underway. According to the plan, the 3m4f event is due to start at 19:45 GMT.
More than a dozen runners are geared up to compete for a cash prize worth £4,549. Their names are: Kilvergan Boy, Tipsy Dara, Royal Mackintosh, Blazing Diva, Overlady, Treehouse, Esme Rides A Gaine, Heez A Steel, Sammy Spiderman,
More Equity, Danny John Boy, Sierra Victor, Easement, Acrai Rua and Dollar Mick.
Tipsy Dara seems to be the biggest threat to Kilvergan Boy. The eight-year-old was not impressive last time out, but one needs a big heart to ignore her.
The John & Gemma Handicap Chase saw her clinching the top spot by seven lengths in late April. In his recent trip, the N. W. Alexander-trained suffered a terrible tumble. Let’s see how she regains her confidence today.
Royal Mackintosh needs something special in order to break the shackles. In both of his previous races, the 11-year-old finished fifth on the chart.
Blazing Diva is yet to learn the art of staying consistent right through the race. So, it might be a bit dangerous to support her.
According to our predictions, Kilvergan Boy will be able to finish first on the podium. Royal Mackintosh might trouble him in the middle, only if he gives his best shot.
