Kim Clijsters sees great potential in Caroline Wozniacki
Three-time US Open winner Kim Clijsters has backed current world number one Caroline Wozniacki to hold on to the top spot in the ATP rankings and add Grand Slam titles to her name.
Wozniacki, who has yet to win a Grand Slam, moved to the top of the rankings on 11 October after making frequent appearances on the ATP Tour this year.
The Dane overtook Serena Williams in the rankings after the American was been ruled out of the latter part of the season with a foot injury.
Clijsters, who became the first top-ranked player not to have won a Grand Slam in 2003, said she believes Wozniacki will remain at the top of the rankings.

"When [Dinara] Safina became number one, she dropped right away but I'm sure Caroline will not fall back, although she's going to have to reduce the number of tournaments she plays because the business for
her is going to start to get very serious," the Belgian said of her younger counterpart.
Wozniacki is known for her defensive game, through which she is able to force errors on her opponents and take power out of their shots with her forehand. Clijsters, another player with impressive court
coverage, praised the 20-year-old's playing style.
"She's a nice girl but she has a game that is physically very demanding. She isn't like Serena who will hit a lot of winners and aces, she has to fight in every match she plays, which is a good thing,
and I think she brings beautiful tennis to the tour."
Wozniacki poised for Grand Slam success
After retiring in 2007, Clijsters returned to tennis last year, during which she defeated Wozniacki in the US Open final, the closest the Dane has ever got to a Grand Slam title.
Despite overcoming the Dane in two sets in that game, Clijsters said she belives Wozniacki will soon add a Grand Slam title to her list of achievements.
"She is 20 and although she has achieved so much and although she hasn't won a Grand Slam, yet I don't think you will be asking that question in a couple of years' time."
