Kim English hammers 29 as Missouri Tigers rout Binghamton Bearcats 88-59: NCAA Basketball
Kim English knocked down a career-high seven of 10 three-pointers and 11 of 15 shots overall, to record his best ever tally of 29 points as Missouri Tigers defeated Binghamton Bearcats 88-59 on November 27, 2011 at the Mizzou Arena,
Columbia.
With this victory, Missouri improved to 6-0 while Binghamton remained winless with sixth straight loss of the season.
Ricardo Ratliffe added 18 points on a perfect 7 for 7 shooting from the floor and grabbed five rebounds. Marcus Denmon, Tigers’ scoring leader this season, had 13 points, four rebounds and three steals while Michael Dixon came
off the bench with 11 points, three assists and two steals for the Tigers.
Although, sophomore point guard Phil Pressey did not score for Missouri but he played a fabulous floor game and tied a career high with 11 assists. It marks the most assists by any Missouri player since December 2010
"I try to find the hot guy," Pressey said. "When those guys are hitting, you got to get them the ball."
Forward Ben Dickinson led Binghamton with 15 points, shooting 7 for 12 from the field, and seven rebounds. Jimmy Gray added 13 points – connecting 3 for 4 from three-point range – and pulled down five rebounds in the loss. Chris
Longoria came off the bench with 12 points while Robert Mansell ended with 11 points for the Bearcats.
The Tigers shot 54.8 percent (34 for 62) from the field while Bearcats ended the game on 50.0 percent shooting (23 for 46). Missouri dished out 23 assists as compared to just 10 by Binghamton. In addition to that, the Bearcats
committed 21 turnovers while Missouri had just six.
Missouri jumped to a 12-2 advantage in the first half and after a dominant phase, scored the last four points to cap the frame at 49-31. The Tigers then opened the second half on an 11-0 run and bolted to a 60-31 lead early in
the half.
They were never challenged for rest of the period and at point led by as many as 37 points. The Bearcats however scored some point in the garbage time to reduce the final deficit.
