Kim Her feels Dutch International win is great start for Wei Keat, Ee Yi at senior level

The Doubles Junior World Champions, Nelson Heg Wei Keat-Teo Ee Yi clinched the Dutch International title and their coach Tan Kim Her believes this splendid win is a perfect start for them at senior level.
Malaysian lads wore the crown of Junior World Champions last year and now they are in a transition year from junior to senior level.
Doubles Champs Wei Keat and Ee Yi registered their presence at international level by winning the Dutch International title after taming their higher ranked Dutch opponents Jorrit De Ruitter-Dave Khodabuz on April 15, 2012.
Doubles head coach Kim Her was dancing on air as his training yielded good results. He declared them the future hope of Malaysia in doubles event and hoped that the duo of Wei Keat-Ee Yi will go with the same flow.
Kim Her said, “This is a great start for them in the senior ranks. They are our promising doubles pair for the future and we hope that they will continue to show improvement.”
The badminton guru believes though they are ranked low in world rankings but they have great potential to soar high in the next couple of years.
The World Number 95 couple of Wei Keat-Ee Yi forged a fruitful chemistry throughout their race to glory in the Dutch International 2012 as they proved their mettle against all higher ranked opponents.
The Malaysians alarmed all top pairs by overpowering World Number 29 pair of Ruud Bosch-Koen Ridder of the Netherlands in their second round match and then they continued their successful run in the quarter-finals by stamping the veteran Doubles experts
of England Chris Langridge and Peter Mills.
In the title match, youngsters Wei Keat and Ee Yi snatched the crown from World Number 52 pair Ruuiter-Khodabux after sweating hard for 52 minutes.
Both finalists displayed prime badminton skills but after three exhausting sets, the battle ended in Malaysia’s favour with decisive figures of 19-21, 21-13 and 21-9.
However, the other Malaysian finalist Sonia Cheah could not follow their successful trail and stood at the runner-up position in the Women’s Singles event. She lost to Yao Jie after reading 21-19, 9-21 and 12-21 scores on the board.
