Times have changed a lot at Rhone club Olympique Lyonnais. A team that spend almost 90 million Euros in the transfer windows of 2009 and 2010 is now looking to hold back on its spending spree.
The recent financial constraints have forced Lyon to spend their money wisely in this summer’s transfer window. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aly-Cissokho-c5313 and Kim Kallstrom have all being linked with moves away from Stade Gerland but till now, no suitors have shown any
concrete interest in the trio.
The delay in the aforementioned players’ departure means that Lyon have to wait even longer than expected before they make their first signing this summer.
President Jean-Michel Aulas is desperate to bring down the club’s massive payroll which is believed to be in the region of 111 million Euros per year.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 international Kim Kallstrom was linked with a move away from the club but the former Stade Rennais midfielder seems to be highly reluctant in leaving the Rhone giants. New Lyon coach Remi Garde does not see the 28-year-old in his plans for next season
and is keen to offload the Swede this summer.
However, reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 now suggest that Kallstrom is not looking to let go of his lucrative deal with Les Gones. The Scandinavian reportedly earns 3.7 million Euros per year at the Ligue 1 side and with his contract expiring in 2012, the Sweden international
is happy to see out the remainder of his contract.
This poses a big problem for Les Gones’ direction who are willing to sell the player to either La Liga side Seville or Turkish giants Galatasaray who are keen on his services.
While talking to the Rhone newspaper Le Progress, Kallstrom openly declared of his desire to stay at the club.
“I do not think that I will move on. My mindset is the same, I am 100% Lyonnais, I want to work for the club and stay here. There are many things that need to be looked at but I’m willing to fight for my place here,” said the Sweden international.
The recent comments made by Kallstrom have definitely put extra pressure on Jean-Michel Aulas as the Lyon supremo is desperate to reduce the financial burden on his club. a move away from Stade Gerland might become an indistinct possibility for the former
BK Hacken man who seems to be eager to see out his lucrative deal at the club before leaving the seven-time Ligue 1 champions as a free agent.
