The Olympique Lyonnais star is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow
Until or unless there’s a huge turnaround, Sweden international, Kim Kallstrom will not have a seventh season in the colours of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130.
A few weeks back, Les Gones president, Jean-Michel Aulas, criticised the playmaker by saying that he had a good time at the Euros but was not that good for his club last season.
“I saw a very good Kallstrom at Euro 2012, and I have not seen the same at all with us last season. He could have been transferred last winter, we waited. Now we’ll see,” were the words of Aulas that have played a big part in the Swede’s future.
L’Equipe now claims that the former Stade Rennais man is attracting a lot of interest from Russian sides. Le Progress is much more assertive. The 29-year-old was absent from Les Gones’ training session yesterday in New York.
Kallstrom missed training in order to finalise the details of his transfer to Spartak Moscow who have apparently come out of nowhere. Initially, it was expected that the Swede would move to Rubin Kazan – the club that approached the player last winter.
Disappointed with the player’s exploits last season, Jean-Michel Aulas will have a great opportunity to cut down the burden on the club’s payroll. However, the deal is going to be a risky one to say the least.
In the January transfer window, Rubin Kazan offered Lyon 6 million euros for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 star. Spartak Moscow on the other hand, are expected to close the deal at just 3 million euros which should be considered somewhat of a loss.
Lyon recruited Kallstrom from Stade Rennais for 8 million euros and it seems absurd that they are letting the player leave for such a low price. Furthermore, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kim-c20955 Kallstrom’s stock should have gone up following a good outing at the Euros for his national
side.
Instead, the player is leaving on a very low price which means that apart from easing the burden on payroll, Les Gones will not have a lot of cash from this transaction in order to pursue long-term targets.
