I havnt really seen any Mma proweiss(sp) in him, he has never really had to fight anyone that could fight back. So my question is, would he get destroyed by a reputable fighter?

  1. he has drive, but he has been beaten fairly by sean gannon. Pound for pound, he's a durable fighter-put him in the wec or ufc against a heavyweight such as brian stann he wouldn't hold his own. He has no experience in mma or anything besides full force punching and tackling

  2. He would, but probably not on the street. Kimbo is a street fighter, not an ultimate fighter. I think that his credentials are only good in the street. If he were to fight someone like Chuck Lidell, he would get destroyed.

  3. Well we've only seen him in two fights that were both under a minute. I don't even think the Tank Abbot fight was 30 seconds long. He is traning with Bas and Randy Couture so with time maybe he'll be a champion. Right now he's overly hyped but generating interest in mma which is always good.

  4. I THINK THAT ALL FIGHTERS ARE SHOW OFFS TO SOME DEGREE AND KIMBO IS NO DIFFERENT. AS TO WHETHER OR NOT HE COULD BEAT A REPUTABLE FIGHTER,WELL I DONT THINK SO.IF YOU WATCH ENOUGH OF HIS FIGHTS ON YOU TUBE YOU WILL SEE HIM LOSE A FEW TO SOME LESS THAT REPUTABLE GUYS.HES A TOUGH SOB AND HES NOT SCARED TO GO BUT THAT DOESNT MAKE HIM A GOOD MMA PRACTITIONER

  5. He's a fighter, not a showoff. He puts in the gym time with VERY reputable coaches (Bas Rutten and Randy Couture). However, as a fighter, he's still unproven.

He has shown some decent head movement in his fight against Tank, and he's displayed some power in all of his fights. Though little, that's a start.

I hate when people declare him to be a 'street fighter,' though. People who say that clearly have no concept of what a streetfight is. People often refer to his youtube bouts as streetfighting, when they were in fact, backyard boxing matches.

As for him getting destroyed by a reputable fighter, I would think so. However, Bas and Randy might pass turn Kimbo into a real threat by the time Elite XC decides to give him some hard fights. You never know.

Right now there are only 2 things that we know for sure.

    1) He's untested, which doesn't necessarily mean bad.

    2) He's training with some of the best.

  6. he ahs 2 fights with very sub par brawlers thats all noe reall MMA talent in with him yet and he wins in the street but as liddell said he could win  fghts with bums in the streets to not a big deal

  7. you tube some of his fights and be the judge for yourself

  8. He doesnt really have much skill that ive seen, he beat up people who dont fight on youtube, and now he has "fought" two mma matches against people who for medical and safety reasons probably shouldnt even have been in a cage. If he had a fight against a decent mma fighter that was within 60lbs of his wieght he would get destroyed. All his opponents now are hand picked not to beat him or put on a good show. As for the street fighting thing, even if he fought a mixed martial artist on the street he would lose, only difference would be he would get his arm broken instead of just tapping.

  9. He is a warrior ... that's for sure

  10. he just had the right timing to come off amidst the youtube thing. too bad he wouldn't have enough time to prove that in his career coz he might only last 2 years now.

so what are the odds that he'll fight a reputable opponent in 2 years? at an average of 3 fights (sanctioned) a year?
