Kimbo Slice vs. Thompson?

Was it just me or did anyone else see Kimbo tap out in the first round while he was held in the choke hold? That fight proves one thing, Kimbo is a badass, but he is not ready for MMA.

  1. no, he was just make sure the dumbass ref would not stop the fight.

  2. Thompson was kicking Kimbo Slices butt! He had Kimbo pinned to the ground and was raining elbows on him at one point at will!

The announcers knew that Kimbo was getting his butt kicked and they didn't want to say it! PATHETIC!

    EliteXC is pathetic!

  3. Yes he tapped in the first, the fight should not have been stood up in the 2nd (except to give Kimbo a better shot), and the fight should not have been stopped in the third. This fight was fixed and ELITEXC and the ref are on the take. IF any of you kimbo fans think that he has a shot at any REAL heavyweight title you are smoking crack.

  4. his record?

hes fought NO mixed martial arts fighters,,lol

do my school fights count,,, maybe i am the champion..

i whipped mitch  s  in the sixth grade and he outweighed me by 50 pounds..

  5. Nick M....are you joking?  If he would have fought an actual good fighter he would have been toast in the first round with someone who knows how to choke, in the second with someone who can ground and pound, and in the third with someone who has some conditioning.  They gave him a sacrificial lamb to make him look good and he embarrassed himself.

  6. Are you serious dude? You must be from Miami. Let me make something 100% clear to you, as soon as Kimbo fights anybody real MMA fighter in the top 10, he will get beaten handily. He is not a true martial artist. And did you happen to notice his punk *** manger had to pick him up off the ground at the end of the second round because he couldn't stand up???

  7. I just saw the fight, and I thought that kimbo kinda tapped out too. I also agree that he is no match to a good mma fighter.

  8. i have to agree his recored shows nothing just stepping stones to boost sales for  kimbo fights.

  9. His record says that he is ready for MMA. He just has to improve his ground game. After that, its going to be a wrap for MMA. Hes going to have it on lock down. His boxing game is already the best.

But no, he did not tap out

  10. According to everybody Thompson wasnt a formidable opponent for kimbo however, thompson probably would have won that fight if they allowed it to continue,  everyone knows that kimbo would never be able to beat the better heavy weight fighters thompson was coming off 2 losses, could u imagine kimbo fighting couture?? couture would destroy him or even tim sylvia, kimbo tends to fight people who are fat or have lost their touch like Tank Abbott, i cant wait for kimbo to fight someone whose a decent heavyweight fighter i doubt he would win.

  11. It wasn't a Tap, Kimbo wouldnt Tap for anything. Thompson did dominate Kimbo on the Ground, but it doesnt seem that he was doing that much Damage. Kimbo can take damage, there is no doubt about that. As far as the people that think Kimbo would have lost if they didn't stop it....What Fight were you watching? He had just CRUSHED Thompson with about 4 huge blows and Thompson was only a few seconds away from being put away. Should the fight have been Called? No. Is it Kimbos fault? No. Thompson should have drained his Ear before the fight so he wouldnt have to worry about this happening.

Even if Kimbo would have lost this fight it wouldnt have proved anything. He's still new to the sport with LOTS of potential. To bad he only has about 3-5 Years left.

Everyone should keep in mind that Quinton "Rampage" Jackson lost Kazushi Sakuraba early in his career...As well as Chuck Liddel.

  12. He was trying to wave the ref away and give a thumbs up.

  13. He was giving a thumbs up to say he was ok. Kind of a dumb move because it looked like and possibly could have been looked at as tapping.

  14. At 2:47 of the first round, he was just signaling to the ref that he's okay. He did the same thing in the 2nd round when Thompson had him in the beat down position and the ref kept telling him to defend himself because he was trapped with both arms pinned and against the fence getting pummeled.

But the weirdest part was at 2:29 of the first round when the camera zoomed out of the fight to cover the cage view. What was that about? I've never seen that done in any other show. Could EliteXC have been trying to cover up the tapout there?

  15. He definitely was trying to show the ref he was okay at one point, but just a little after that, I really think he tapped.  I wish someone would put up the video, so I could look again.

Having said that, if I had wanted to watch that, I could have gone down town, put back a beer and looked around.  That did no justice for MMA... probably set it back 5 years.  At least the girls fought like men.

  16. MMA is a lot different from bare knuckle street fighting with random dudes in Miami that want a piece of Kimbo. Yeah Kimbo is a badass dude, but I don't think he'll make it in MMA. He started too late and he has too many victories that came from slow powerful overhand punches. It will be very hard for someone as old as he is, to learn the techniques other fighters who started early in martial arts have mastered. He is better at street fighting and being a bodygaurd than he will ever be somewhere like the UFC or even the WEC. The game is just too advanced and it has left behind even the legends like Ken Shamrock who rely purely on one or two submission techniques and mostly stand up striking. You must really know submission grappling and submission defense to succeed in MMA because about 90% of fights end up on the ground.
