Kimi Raikkonen aims fifth victory in 2012 Belgian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen has said that he is aiming to win the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix which is to be held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps for the fifth time this year.
Raikkonen said that although he has attained competitive results in the Belgian GP, however, he said that his performance in the past in Budapest doesn’t justify that he will perform well in the approaching race in the current season.
Moreover, he said that he is targeting to score his fifth victory in the upcoming race. In addition, he said that even though, he has not been able to win any race in the season so far. Nonetheless, he said that he is confidently eying to deliver his best
and expressed that it will be extremely delightful for him to win his first race in the upcoming season.
“Usually I’ve achieved good results at Belgian Grand Prix, but what’s happened before doesn’t help me right now. Saying that though it doesn’t do any harm either. Obviously it would be great to win at Spa for fifth time. I haven’t won during first part of
season and extra points are always good,” he said.
Besides, he said that he has always enjoyed racing at Spa and has some great association with the track. He also said that the feeling which he gets at Budapest, he doesn’t get at any other place. Furthermore, he admired the design of the circuit and asserted
that it is fantastic to race at it.
“For me there have only been good memories from Spa and it’s great to go racing there. You can’t get the same kind of a feeling anywhere else. It’s great to race with modern racing car at a proper circuit that has such a great tradition,” he added.
Additionally, he said that almost all the drivers like Spa for racing and enjoy demonstrating their skills and abilities while he said that it is one of his most favourite circuits.
Over and above, it will be thrilling to see how all the contenders perform in the remaining nine races after the August break.
