Kimi Raikkonen has no more feelings towards Ferrari – Formula 1 news
Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen has said that he has no more feelings towards Ferrari and he is very much pleased with his current team.
Raikkonen won the 2007 world championship with the Scarlet team. Furthermore, he stayed in Ferrari for three seasons and was replaced with Fernando Alonso in 2010.
Moreover, he said that he had a good time with the Italian team but now he doesn’t have any kind of feelings associated with them.
“I felt good with them,” he told Italian magazine Autosprint. “I won a World title and now I have no more feelings towards them, neither good nor bad. I'm happy with what I got. Things could probably be done better, but what does it matter now? Yes, I know
the reasons why I didn't stay with them, but I don't feel like talking about that now. As I said, I have no hard feelings towards anyone.”
Later, it was reported that the Finnish driver went into conversations to join McLaren for 2010 season which could not happen as he demanded very high remuneration.
However, he dismissed all the rumours and said that it was not about money, he just had an issue with the time period of the agreement.
“That's not true. The point is that I could see no reason for signing for a certain number of months,” he said.
In 2010, he left F1 and went to take part in World Rally Championship. He competed in 11 rounds and his best performance was fifth place finish in Turkey.
Later in 2011, he struggled throughout the season and decided to make his comeback in F1 so he signed a new contract with Lotus for 2012 season.
In the current season, he has performed quite convincingly and is presently standing at 6th place in the drivers’ championship with 73 points. In addition, he is 20 points ahead of his teammate, Romain Grosjean and just 2 points behind Nico Rosberg
of Mercedes.
He has secured three podium finishes in the season until now and is positively looking forward to perform well in the British Grand Prix which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8.
