Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen has said that he is targeting to win more races in the 2013 Formula 1 season ahead and insisted that they must keep on making the necessary improvements in their car to compete well with their rivals.
Raikkonen performed remarkably well in the German Grand Prix and managed to secure second podium finish after taking a start from 4th grid slot. Although, he remained unable to score his second victory of the season at Nurburgring, he is positively looking
forward to perform well in the forthcoming races.

“Obviously we are here to try and win races,” Raikkonen said. “We couldn't in Germany because we were not fast enough, but for the team it was a good result after a couple of quite difficult races. We lost some more points to the lead as Seb won, but it's
still a long season and if we keep putting ourselves in a position to at least be fighting for first place then I think we can do it again.”
Besides, he expressed that he is aiming to perform well in the Hungarian GP so as to make his position stronger in the championship fight. He also said that they will have improve their qualifying pace for the approaching races so as to take a strong start
to beat their opponents at Hungaroring.
“I have finished second in Hungary too many times, so I know how important it is to lead the race after the first corner,” he added.
The 2007 world champion has performed incredibly well in the season so far. He is currently standing at third place in the drivers’ championship with 116 points. Furthermore, he is ahead of Lewis Hamilton of McLaren and behind his major rival, Fernando Alonso
of Ferrari.
