Kinda awkward situation with my bf's mom...did i do the right thing?

Question

my mom loves flowers so she had me give a bouquet of flowers to my bf's mom along with some green beans and potatoes from her garden. I brought them over to my bf's house this evening and his mom was really happy. so she gave me a hug, but it was a longish hug...and she leaned in close so i didn't know what to do. so i kissed her cheek. i feel kinda awkward because i don't know what i was supposed to do. i felt like she was waiting for something. help!

She was just being thankful.  It isn't like she was grinding on your hip.. lmao

A hug would have been sufficient but a kiss on the cheek was okay too. I too have been in that situation & gave a kiss on the cheek as well. Hey, what harm can it do?  Your mom & you did something really kind, & spontaneously, his mom gave you a long hug. I don't think she was waiting for anything, just a long hug is all.

No don't worry.. you should get to know my mom.. she hugs everyone,..  some mom's get emotional quickly.. Maybe for a moment she wished she had a daughter who would do that for her more often.. if she only has your BF or only sons.. they are not as thoughtful perhaps to bring her flowers.. so I guess some mom's are emotional she probably was overwhelmed because her husband never brings her flowers and she might have remembered the last time someone brought her flowers and that' s the whole mystery behind it.. you have nothing to worry about.. she is normal just over emotional xx

At this point  don't take it too seriously!  She may have been very pleased with the kind gesture. She may not have this happen to her very often.

aww i think she was jsut trying to be nice but if you felt uncomfortable tell your bf about it and he can tell you if its normal of her or not you never know she could have just been very thankful moms often get overlooked and underaprpeciated and you thought of her os it may have meant more than you know to her
