  1. Our school had an informational meeting for parents in May before the school year started, and they explained all the answers to these same questions to me.  They also had a day in June where they visited a kindergarten class to see what it was about, they got a tour and they took a bus ride.   I bet you school has something like this too.  Remember, all the other kids in the class will be in the same boat, and the teachers are experienced and will know what to do to make your kid feel at ease. In our school, the teachers met the kids off the bus for the first week and walked them to the bus area in the afternoon, and they wore badges around their next that said what bus numbers they took.  The teachers walked them to the lunch room, there were lunch monitors. After a week, the kids will know their way around and be used to the routine. It will be alright, try not to worry too much

  2. Call the school and ask your questions... here, the teachers walk their class to the bus and take them to each bus they have to go on, to make sure they get on the right one, at least when they first start... If your son tries walking in the opposite direction of the bus, the bus driver will stop him.

  3. my son just went to kindergarten this year the teacher will make sure he goes where he is supposed to but you really need to teach him which bus he rides my son teachers didn't watch him because for about 30 min. i didn't know where my 5 year old was he decide he wanted to go to my sisters and knew which bus to ride to get there so explain that he needs to ride his bus only

  4. It's fine. The elementary school I went to was very organized, especially with the kindergartners. The 5Th graders had ' jobs' to leave class and line up about 6 or 7 kindergartners each. They have Them hold hands in a line and they take them to their bus. And they choose the 5th graders who have these jobs very wisely and only choose the responsible ones.

That's how it worked at my elementary school.

  5. Well, this sounds very normal to me. It is very scary having your 'baby' go to school. Children, though, are very adaptable. The first day or so will be a bit of an adjustment, but after that he'll be fine. Schools are full of professionals that will make sure nothing happens to your boy!
