what is difference between a reflex action and walking?

  1. Walking is a controlled action, and directed by your brain. A reflex is uncontrolled and is not directed by your brain, but by the reflex loops in the spinal cord.

    The first neuron releases neurotransmitters, which traverse the gap between the neurons and activate the second neuron. The neurotransmitters are then neutralised by an enzyme, to prevent continuous synapse firing, which would overload the nervous system.
