Kinect Revolution in Gaming

While the entire world’s attention is  focused on the on-going football world cup, there is another major development in virtual gaming as world computer software king-pin Microsoft unveils another revolutionary technology on the 10th Birthday Xbox.

The occasion was marked with much fanfare, given the title, “Week of E3”, the Electronics Entertainment Expo, was an occasion to remember packed full of events promoting Microsoft's latest technology and games.

The event was launched on last weekend with the week set to be full of festivities and marked by some incredible performances that included the demonstration of the new motion-sensing controller, Kinect.

Kinect has been conceptualized by Cirque du Soleil. Microsoft unveiled the features that have made Kinect a next level technology piece, and the event was focused on giving more details along with a sneak peek of upcoming titles.

The Kinect system is a three-camera setup that plugs into an Xbox, the advantage of the new state of the art system is that it allows for completely hands-free games.

The gaming console is controlled by voice commands, and the product is set to create waves around the world especially amongst crazy gaming addicts that are splattered all over the globe.

The new motion-sensing system, given the code named "Project Natal," was first announced at last year's E3.

Microsoft analysts have given a high estimate of the cost of the device that is set to hit the gaming market around the holiday season.The price of the product is set to range from 50 to 200 dollars (USD). November 4th marked as the day the controller, will hit the market.

The new product is one of the dearest projects at the largest software and technology manufacturer in the world, and has excited the entire organisation. Dennis Durkin, Microsoft's COO of Interactive Entertainment, was enthralled with the product, and elaborated on the plans of launching it in a truly “Microsoft” way.
"We've been working on this for a while," said Durkin. "Everything that we're doing this year is new, whether it's the new console that you see behind me, the new 250 gig (gigabyte) hard drive which ships to stores today.

The new Kinect system that we'll be launching this November, unlocks interactive game play for new audiences that you couldn't do before with a controller, and then all sorts of new games and services on our live network. So everything this year is new, it's a totally new experience and we're very pleased to bring it to market."

Amongst the gaming products on display, Kinect stole the limelight yet there were some other gaming hardware on display.Microsoft executives showed off a new version of the Xbox with a higher-capacity console built in Wi-Fi and a 250-gigabyte hard drive.
The new version of the console has hit the market and the price of the equipment is 299 dollars (USD).

Meanwhile, Microsoft claims that its ambition, despite a shoddy track record of engaging gamers into focusing only on Xbox is the console nexus of household entertainment.
Besides offering the best gaming technology in the world the console has added features like Netflix movies and Zune music and videos. All that the consumer need is to buy a subscription through its Xbox Live online subscription.

The company also plans to strike a deal with a leading sports broadcasting network, ESPN which will enable them to broadcast live sporting events into households in United States through the Xbox 360 games console. Through the newest plan of broadcasting the traditional way of accessing coverage through the cable provides would be shunned by consumers, claims Microsoft.
