King's Cross -- Safe?

Question

Hi, I am looking at flats in King's Cross, in particular to the south east of the station (around 5 min walk). Is this area safe? I know before that there were prostitutes and the like; however, I would think that now with the Eurostar, it should be better?

I'd really appreciate it if I could get some honest opinions from people who know the area well. Thanks!

it's a lot safer than it used to be, but I'm not convinced it's truly safe (yet) ... but walking southeast from the station is better than walking north, and it's so near maybe you'll be OK
