Well, 2 and 1/2 weeks ago, I went to King's Island with the choir and national junior honor society from my school. It was the first time I had been to an amusement park in about 9 years(I'm 14), and I was wanting y'all opinion. Which do you think is better? The BEAST or SON BEAST. I didn't have time to ride the SON BEAST, but rode the Beast, it was AWESOME and just wanted to know which was better in everyones opinion....the beast is the worlds longest wooden coaster, but the son beast is the worlds tallest and fastest wooden coaster........ALSO, the school band went to Kennywood last weekend and some of them were saying that Kennywood was better then King's Island and I just wanted to know..... I haeve saw a lot of pics and King's Island looks more fun.... they have the Beast, Son Beast, Racer, Dropzone, Invertigo, Delirium, Firehawk. Vortex, ect ect, and idk what kennywood has. so thanks for letting me know

  1. I have never been to Kennywood, but i prefer the Beast to the Son of Beast... the Son of Beast is just way too wild

  2. I've been to both, but I am a bit partial to Kings Island as Kennywood seems a bit outdated compared to Kings Island. If I had to choose between the two on which one I would make a visit to next, hands down it would be Kings Island. As for the Beast or Son Of Beast .... I'd definitely go with the Beast as it offers a bit smoother ride and the terrain it's built upon adds to the effect. I highly recommend riding the Beast at night as well. The Son Of Beast is good in it's own right, though the ride is much rougher and to me it's a former shadow of itself as it no longer has the loop and that was the selling point to me as making it a premiere wooden coaster.

  3. I've never been to Kennywood, but I've seen that park featured on the travel channel on cable many times...  I guess it's a classic park that has been around for A LONG time, so I can see why people might say that it's a better park... But,

    I PREFER King's Island!!!

Kennywood does have some "classic" rollercoasters and some other types of rides that you might not find at King's Island, but NOBODY has anything that compares to THE BEAST!!!

You've ridden it... YOU KNOW HOW GOOD IT IS!!!  The Beast is still the longest wooden coaster to this day, even though it was built back in '79...

Now, I did get a chance to ride "Son of Beast" a couple years back (When it still had the loop in it) and while that first hill is REALLY Tall...  the rest of the ride didn't live up to the greatness of the original!!  It is WAY too bumpy, for one thing...  But, maybe you like that kind of thing...  And, it just doesn't have that same "atmosphere" of soaring out through the woods and the trees like the Beast does...  That's always been one of my favorite things about the Beast...  It takes you out into the woods and such... you really feel like you're in a totally different place (Not in an amusement park anymore)... it's just you and the ride and the natural surroundings!!  It's almost Zen like!!

  4. kings island's wayyy better :D

and the beast is the **** >:]

the son of beast is ok i guess lol

    its more rough though

  5. KENNYWOOD!!!!!!!

Last week, I went to Kings Island with my choir.  While there, I had the chance to ride Beast and Son of the Beast.  While Son of the Beast is faster and taller, Beast had more scenery through the woods.  Also, Son of the Beast had me shaking so much, I could barely pay attention to what was going on.  I had a headache for twenty minutes after riding Son of the Beast.

To answer your other question, I am from Pittsburgh, so Kennywood is my home park.  While I imagine that most people like Kings Island better, I like Kennywood better.

As far as Kennywood's rides go, they have one of the fastest steel coasters in the world.  This is The Phantom's Revenge.  There are several cool parts to this ride.  First of all, the first drop is a curve, so you drop while the train is tilted sideways.  The second drop is 225 ft, during which you cross underneath the Thunderbolt, one of Kennywood's wooden coasters.  The other hills are small, but really fun.  As you go over them at really high speeds, you get sent out of your seat, experiencing a lot of air time.

They also have the Thunderbolt, which is wooden, but not near as harsh as the Beast of Son of the Beast.

Kennywood has a racer as well, however Kennywood's Racer has a twist.  It has only one track.  This way, if you leave on the left side of the station, you will return on the right side.  Strange thing is, the part of the track that you are on will never cross the part of the track that the other train is on.

Another rollercoaser there is the Jack Rabbit.  This is a wooden coaster with a double dip that sends you flying out of your seat.

The last coaster is an indoor wild mouse called Exterminator.  Here, halfway through the ride the brakes on the car let go and you spin wildly for the remainder of the ride.

Depending on what kind of rides you like to ride will also help with your decision.  Although I believe that roller coasters are the best things EVER built, I really enjoy some of the other rides.  They have SwingShot, which is a giant swing that launches you forward and backward.

Kennywood was voted the park with the best dark rides by The Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts, or DAFE.  Kennywood has one of the only few Noah's Ark rides left in the country and it is really neat to ride.  Part of the ride is spent in a boat, that is rocking back and forth while you are walking around and going down steps.

Kennywood also had a 3D haunted boat ride, called Garfield's  Nightmare.

New to Kennywood this year is Ghostwood Estate, a ride-through haunted house.  Some cool parts of this ride are that there is no track to ride on, and you have a gun that you can shoot ghosts with.

*If you happen to go to Kennywood, you have to ride the   Phantom!

    Hope this helps!!

  6. KENNYWOOD IS AMAZING

The Phantoms Revenge is one of the fastest roller coasters ever. it is the best. Kennywood is a little small compared to most theme parks but it is still so much fun.... The Jack Rabbit hs a double dip and one of the oldest wooden roller coasters and they have a new ride the ghost ride or something

go to kennywood you will not regret it

i go to kennywood every summer more than once sometimes
