King George River to take down Dibayani in the Coolmore Canford Cliffs Stakes (Listed Race)

On 3rd July, 2012, the bay colt won the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Gowran Park over a mile. Riding with the jockey, C. O’Donoghue, Danehill Dancer’s son took a slow and steady start but, by the time the home turn came
he had picked up pace. Leading the final two furlongs and staying strong in the decisive phases of the race had the two-year-old winning by the margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
The career debut of the bay colt out of, Butterfly Blue, was on heavy ground conditions and the similar situation prevails today. The distance however is less than what he raced over before, which favours his 5 to 2 chances today.
The Barronstown Stud bred will be paired up with the same jockey who will guide him through from the change in maiden to listed race.
A serious threat to the back-to-back strike of the M. Tabor, D. Smith and Mrs. John Magnier owned will be the two-year-old, Dibayani, who managed clearing the maiden through the second attempt on it. He lost the Barronstown Stud European Breeders Fund (C
& G) Maiden on 1st July, 2012 at Curragh over seven furlongs.
Shamardal’s son out of, Dibiya, made the most out of the next chance that he was presented at clearing the maiden. He won the Darley European Breeders Fund Maiden on 22nd July, 2012 at Curragh over seven furlongs.
The favourite entry was paired up with Johnny Murtagh for the race and went through the wire by the margin of just half a length.
The 7 to 4 shot for the race will be partnered yet again by the genius of his profession, Johnny Murtagh.
