King/ Shvedova defeat Errani/ Vinci in 2nd round – China Open 2011
Fourth seeded Team of Vania King with Yaroslava Shvedova got the better of Italian Sara Errani with Roberta Vinci in the doubles second round of the China Open 2011. Battling on outdoor hard courts of the National Tennis Center
in Beijing, China, the fourth seeded team of Kazakh Shvedova and American King needed only sixty minutes to outshine the Italian duo in straight sets of 6-1, 6-2.
The first round of the match was opened by Errani/ Vinci, who were unable to hold their serve in the first and the third game, while, King/ Shvedova capitalized on two early breaks and as they held serve in the second, they had
taken a mini lead of 3-0.  In the following two games, the players broke each other back-to-back and in doing so, the fourth seeded team had further increased the gap and the Italian pair had reduced the deficit to 1-4.
By the end of the fifth game King and Shvedova were leading with two breaks and a game and as they again held serve in the fifth game the scoreboard rolled at 5-1. The American and the Kazakh were now only a game away and as Errani/
Vinci double faulted on their second serve; they endorsed the set point to their opponents. King/ Shvedova were now one up against the Italian pair in the opening round.
The second round of the match was opened by King/ Shvedova this time and they were expertly able to handle their first game by winning on their serve to roll the scoreboard at 1-0. Catching up right behind them were Errani/ Vinci,
who too held serve and placed themselves on the scoreboard at 1-1.
In the third game, first to break was King/ Shvedova who took the mini lead and moved the scoreboard at 2-1 but it was an ephemeral lead as immediately in the next game Errani/ Vinci broke back not wanting their opponents to take
the edge and the score was again levelled at 2-2.
In the following two games King/ Shvedova not only held serve to bag a game but also benefitted from a break and were now leading with a game and break over the Italian couple. In the last two games they again repeated the same
feat and sealed their victory of the set and the match.
King/ Shvedova were able to reserve a spot in the third round where they will be facing Slovak Daniela Hantuchova with Pole Agnieszka Radwanska.
