It's not like there's a lot of royalty left now a days and even those now don't actually have any real power.  A bigger question should be posed to those dictators and generals running amok supposively trying to stabalize their countries.

Royals are God, they are ordained by God, they have no need to bow to or defy God, their will is the will of God, they aren't athiests as they believe in the divinity of their status, they gracefully accept God as they are Gods (or at least favored by God(s))
