Kingaroo aiming for a hat-trick through the 32redpoker.Com Handicap at Southwell
The Class 6 32redpoker.Com Handicap has brought some highly credible candidates for the mile and four furlong contest on Monday, 23rd July at Southwell. Naburn is reliable due to the track record of his stable mates and is backed by 5 to 1 odds for the race today.
The six-year-old, Kingaroo, on the other hand is racing out of two victories and winning today would mean that he will be able to post a hat-trick on his profile. King Charlemagne’s bay gelding has taken part in fourteen races ever since the new season kicked off.
He began with a fourth position in the Play Golf Before Racing At Southwell Handicap on 2nd February, 2012 at Southwell over a mile and three furlongs. The race was won by, Mediterranean Sea by the margin of 1 ½ lengths.
After suffering through failure in the next five outings that he undertook, the Irish bay gelding won the Sports 360 The Sports Advertising Specialists Handicap on 17th April, 2012 at Southwell over a mile and three furlongs.
With jockey, Luke Morris onboard, Kingaroo tracked the leader and halfway through the distance, he gained some edge which was challenged in the third and second last furlongs. Putting in all the effort he could, the six-year-old defeated the favourite runner-up, Ostentation, by 2 ¼ lengths.
The Lady Naomi foaled then stayed deprived of success for the next five races.
On 6th July, 2012, he won the Sue Felton Happy 60th Birthday Handicap at Doncaster over a mile and four furlongs. In the field of three, Kingaroo broke into a reasonable pace gradually, and set into a high gear four furlongs out. He shared the next two furlongs with the rest of the contestants and then concluded the race gamely with the margin of 1 ¾ lengths.
Trained by Garry Woodward, the six-year-old landed the Bet Totequadpot Text Tote To 89660 Handicap on 17th July, 2012 at Southwell over a mile and three furlongs. He added this success on the profile with a second straight win with the jockey, Luke Morris.
The 10 to 3 entry will become the mount for Luke Morris a third time and if the partnership will culminate into a third in line win or not will surface soon.
