Kingaroo has obvious claims for 32Red Casino Handicap at Southwell
Following a comprehensive win last time out, Kingaroo is geared up to outplay his rivals in the 32Red Casino Handicap, taking place at Southwell on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
Garry Woodward’s trainee displayed a wonderful show and ensured the top place in Sports 360 The Sports Advertising Specialists Handicap at Southwell last week.
The six-year-old shocked the audience by beating the 13-8 favourite, Ostentation, by two and a quarter lengths. Prior to his recent success, the bay gelding performed poorly in two consecutive races.
At the start of last month, the J. Pownall-owned was below par, finishing seventh in the southwell-racecourse.co.uk Handicap. Although victories are not coming to his way regularly, the gelding is full of spirit following a
fresh success.
He does not have much time to get ready, as the party is about to begin. According to the schedule, the 1m4f meeting will be started at 18:00 GMT.
Among the participants are: Kingaroo, Ostentation, Bring Sweets, Lava Steps, Mister Frosty, Dunaskin, Key Decision and Harare.
The contenders will compete for a cash prize of £1,704. Among Kingaroo’s opponents, Ostentation seems to be the strongest contender.
The five-year-old has been performing decently over the past few weeks, although wins are not coming to his way frequently.
His last success came at the end of last month, when he beat the 4-5 favourite, Quinsman, by a neck’s distance in the Summer Nights At Lingfield Park Claiming Stakes at Lingfield.
Since his victory, he has been struggling with his form. Find Us On Facebook Wolverhampton Racecourse Handicap saw him missing the third spot by a nose. Alastair Lidderdale’s trainee needs a slice of luck to do well today.
Bring Sweets is another talented runner. However, the five-year-old is currently going through a lean patch. At the end of last month, Brian Ellison’s trainee ended up fourth by a neck’s distance.
According to the calculations, the real clash will be between Kingaroo and Ostentation. Our vote goes to Kingaroo, who is full of confidence after a fresh success. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
